Daily Life
Our days are filled with muddy hands, tree climbing, candlelight, stories, warm tea, and palpable love.
Rhythm & Flow Schedule
While our schedule is flexible to follow the interests of the children and the natural rhythm of the day, we structure our time to provide a balance of exploration, creativity, reflection, and connection.
This rhythm gives consistency while still allowing children to engage at their own pace, return to ongoing projects, and fully immerse in learning experiences — while nurturing curiosity, autonomy, and resilience.
At Bloom & Belong, daily life is not just about schedules or activities — it’s about being fully present, exploring the world, and building relationships. Our educators, Land, and greater community hold space so children can grow, experiment, and feel a deep sense of belonging.
Our Experiences
We engage in a wide variety of hands-on, Land-based experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, and care. These experiences are integrated throughout the day, with ample time for exploration, creativity, and reflection.
Outdoor Skills – noticing wildlife, footprints, and animal behaviors to understand and respect the natural world. We also emphasis fire safety as we use fire throughout the day for warmth and to help set intentions (e.g. candles for meal times, fires for story time, etc.).
Movement and Risky Play- helping children develop risk assessment skills through dialogue, embodied learning, and recognition of hazards.
Plant Identification – learning about plants, their uses, and relationships to people, cultures, and ecosystems
Environmental Reciprocity – caring for the Land, cleaning up spaces, and learning about sustainable living in support of the life-long responsibility of stewardship
Natural Arts and Crafts – creating with natural materials, exploring textures, colors, and forms
Outdoor Yoga & Mindfulness – connecting body, breath, and mind through gentle movement and reflection
Cooking- hands-on exploration of food processes such as gardening, preservation, cooking, and clean-up
We do not have a strict curriculum or schedule, these are experiences which are woven into our daily rhythm, allowing children to connect, create, and learn through their own curiosity. Ultimately, we follow the lead of the children.
